Cookeville-based Enrema LLC, a privately held company developing and operating oil and natural gas production fields, recently acquired the Tennessee-based assets of Alaska-based Miller Energy Resources for $3.25 million.

The acquisition makes Enrema the largest oil and gas company in Tennessee and one of the top producers in the area, according to a press release.

“These assets are strategically crucial for our operation and growth strategies,” said Enrema General Manager Marcelo Recchia in the release. “Miller Energy Resources offered top-quality assets and by acquiring them we find ourselves in a much stronger position to grow and serve existing markets.”

Independently owned, Enrema has the capability and skills to take advantage of the latest technologies, resources and experiences available for achieving optimum performance without compromising in safety and concern for the conservation of the environment, according to the release.

Enrema also participates in enhanced oil recovery projects using natural gas as production drive, contributing to a clean and efficient way to further develop existing reservoirs.

Enrema’s Asset Engineer Kurlan Barbosa said in the release the company has a long-term plan to maximize the value of the acquisitions by integrating them with existing strategies.

The company will drill and complete horizontal and vertical shale gas wells, increase production and reactivation of oil and conventional existing gas wells, continue leasing more acreage for mineral rights exploitation and conduct geological and engineering studies on the evaluation of oil and gas reserves.
